Did You Know

To keep cotton towels fluffier and help retain absorbency, don't use fabric softer or dryer sheets, It will Inhibit cotton's natural water wicking ability and It also makes the towel stay brighter. I didn't know that and read It In a magazine just the other day so I thought I would share the tip.

Enjoy your day,
Kathi

This is great to know! Whenever I use a dryer sheet with the towels, they seem to have this kind of "slick" feeling to them. Hard to explain, but after reading this...it sure makes sense! Thanks for the tip AND the clarification!

Ya know Kathi, I heard a long time ago about the liquid softeners but never thought twice about it when I started using dryer sheets years ago! Hubby does complain the towels don't dry good, now I know why! Thank you!

I use about a half a cup of vinegar in the rinse water (I toss it in a downy ball) and it seems to help too. It strips off the excess soap so that even my line-dried towels aren't so crispy.

Dryer sheets can lead to dryer burn out because of the waxy build up.

I do what Lisa (above me) does. I just pour in white vinegar into the wash along with some 20 mule team borax.
