This week end It will be a quiet one. Nothing really going on, which Is perfectly fine by me. Maybe I can get to my studio and make some new pieces. Since the whole thing with Ginger happened I find myself really struggeling for new Ideas. Usually I can sit at my table and my mind will go faster than my finger's. I have a few Ideas up there floating around so pop on over to the shop and there will be a few new listing's over the week end.
Wow, It seems like so long ago since I wrote, so much for my New Years resolution. A lot of thing's have been taking place. As some of you know or have seen photo's of my Golden Retriever Ginger aka Jenny bug. My Ginger passed away on July 1st 2008. She was diagnosed with a disease named Myasthenia Gravis which Is a neuromuscular disease It effects the esophagus. It won't allow the food to pass down to the stomach so all the food Is left In the esophagus and the only way to get rid of the food was to regurgitate. She was so good she would always let me know when she was going to. While she was at home we were treating her for Gastritis. The vet thought she just had a tummy ache, It wasn't until they tried to do a barium sweep that they found out the food was not getting to the stomach. The good news was that It was treatable but only If you could get the dose right on. To much made It worse to little made It worse. We could never get her does right. She ended up with Aspiration Pneumonia and was on two antibiotics and IV for fluid's
I would visit at the vet hospital and on the last day of here life I had noticed that she really looked just worn out. She was having a really hard time breathing. There were other thing's going on as well as those two. It was just killing me to see her suffer. The vet said he truly believed she was starting to suffer. I called my husband and explained what was going on and what I thought we should do. We decided to have her put to sleep. It was such a hard decision to make always second guessing yourself was I doing the right thing or was I not giving her enough time. The doctor was at the counter getting the shot ready I was on th floor with Jenny and she had her head resting on my knee. I was petting her and talking to her she looked up at me with those big brown eyes and died. We did not have to give her the shot which was a huge comfort knowing that I was making the right decision.
Jenny had been sick since June 8th so It was a long battle for her.
To be honest I'm not really sure how I came to fine Humblebeads but I am so glad that I did. Sometimes I'll just start searching for different thing's. I love bird's, so I am forever on a hunt for a new addition. Heather Is a polymer clay artist with some amazing skill's. The minute I saw my little feathered friend the wheels started turning. Huuummm, what can I design with this little guy. Here Is the finish product title " In My Garden ". I currently have this piece listed In my shop.
Heather's bead's have been featured In bead magazines, books, on HGTV and PBS' Beads, Baubles & Jewels. She has some Incredible bead's listed at Humblebeads here Is one of here many treasures. The thing with polymer bead's Is they look fabulous and are less expensive then an average handmade glass bead and they give you some added texture In your designs, I love them ! The possibilities are endless. Some of the color's and designs at Humblebeadsare out of this world.
Stop over and see Heather and be sure to check out here web site at Humblebeads.com
I will see you tomorrow and give you my movie pick for the week. Have a great day..Kathi
Today my etsy fine Is from margrietje . I stumbled across this shop while I had some free time on Friday. Well I fell In Love immediately. I will, own one of these little creation, only problem that I'm having Is I'm stuck on which one to buy. Here Is what this very talented artist had to say.The polymer clay pendant's are crafted and painted by hand. Each piece of one theme is therefore unique and slightly different to one another. How cool Is that. Here are just a few of my favorites.
Eva just opened margrietje In January of this year and Is already making a name for herself. She says, it is the love that has been put into the work that makes every piece of the pendant special! Please take the time to stop by this Incredible artist shop. You will be glad you did.
Today I have not one but four features for your viewing pleasure. I scoured out all the Etsy shops looking for just the right mix of goodies. It was a difficult task there are so many talented artist In one spot. These four seemed to just fit. So first we have folktale This yarn Is absolutely beautiful, love the title too. It does look like a bag full of those little Easter bean's. This Is what Abby has to say, I try to buy as much wool from small local farms as possible -local sheep & wool festivals are my best friend! I like supporting small local businesses, and when I buy directly from the farmers, they get a much fairer price for their wool than if they sold it to a large company. Stop by folktale and check out all of those fabulous mix of colors all In one lovely Skein.
Second In line we have This adorable OOAK Whimsical Paper Clay Papier Mache Easter Bunny Nodder from punkindoodleboo Katie tells us a little about this little guy. This Easter Bunny sits 9" inches tall and he has so many wonderful little details! He also has the most darling expression! My favorite details are his smart looking jacket and dapper bow and, of course, his pink Easter Basket! He has jointed arms and legs and his neck is a rusted spring. This wonderfully whimsical piece will most certainly be a treasured addition to any doll collection. This Is one talented artist. Stop by and take a peek at the rest of her amazing collection. Katie also has a blog so be sure to stop by there as well. Katies link to her shop Is under favorites to the right.
Third on my fabulous Easter finds Is this Incredible painting by TerryRafferty Does this just scream HAPPY EASTER and that adorable little yellow chick. Terry just opened her Etsy shop a week ago and has already sold one of her amazing painting's. I say she Is well on her way. This featured pick Is a 8x16" original oil painting titled Where Is Everybody? Terry does have some other beautiful painting's listed In here shop so be sure to stop and say Hi.
Forth we have Deb from Heartspeak with this beautiful vintage Easter card. She just opened her shop In March of this year. This Is what she had to say, I try to create cards and other products, mostly from paper, that will help you communicate with the people you care about. Whether it's how you feel about them or a way to share something about yourself, sometimes it really is just as simple as a few words or an image on a card. Stop by and see Deb for that special card, she really has a great selection and tell her you saw her here, Deb's link to her shop Is under favorites to the right.
